Taylor K-2006 Complete DPD-FAS Pool Test Kit
Lab-grade titration kit for accurate Free Chlorine, Total Alkalinity, Calcium & Cyanuric Acid.

When pool pH rises above 7.8, two dangerous reactions happen simultaneously: calcium precipitates out of solution forming rough waterline scale, and your chlorine loses over 70% of its germ-killing speed.
Muriatic acid (31.45% hydrochloric acid / 20° Baumé) is the cleanest, most reliable chemical to pull pH back down into the 7.4–7.6 sweet spot. Unlike dry acid (sodium bisulfate), it leaves zero corrosive sulfate residues that damage expensive titanium salt cells and copper heater coils.
Calculate the exact fluid ounces of 31.45% muriatic acid required to drop your water to 7.4 pH based on your pool size.
Never add muriatic acid to still or stagnant water. Concentrated hydrochloric acid is denser than water and will sink straight to the bottom plaster, causing permanent bleaching and rough etching. Always switch your pool pump to high speed (3,000+ RPM on variable speed pumps) at least 5 minutes before application.
Hold the open acid jug close to the water surface (no more than 3 inches above the pool line to prevent wind-borne splashing). Slowly pour the measured acid directly in front of the strongest deep-end return jet. The high-velocity jet stream immediately atomizes and disperses the acid across 15,000 gallons within seconds.
Do not allow swimmers into the pool for 30 minutes after dosing. Allow the complete water volume to turn over. After 4 hours of continuous filtration, run a follow-up pH and Total Alkalinity test with your titration kit.
Don't treat pH in isolation. Use our 0ms dynamic water balance engine to calculate exact chemical additions for your entire pool volume and prevent algae blooms.
